There comes along a bride every now and then who has very different tastes than the traditional bride. Jesslynn Hughes is a big fan of Animae, and her and her new husbamd wanted a unique design that depicts who they are. Along side this cake you see a statue of a mystic woman in black and a white dragon. This represents them and who they are. They designed the style and added the dragon logo on each tier to make it completely their wedding cake. They insisted the flowers made all sugar, there were tiger lilies, blue blossoms, white daisies and white orchids. All made by your truly. You should have seen the jaws that dropped when this cake came strolling in at Jesslyns, 's mother residence, where the reception was Washington Fields.

This Cake looked amazing at the Bell Tower. This cake was made for Emily Wariner & Kia Thomas Anderson. They are such a wonderful couple, they really deserve to have a beautiful wedding and wedding cake. This is the second cake I've done for the Wariners. These red callalilies looked fantastic on this white fondant cake with ivory colored drape..very classy!

The fun and inventive way of doing a wedding cake is catching on again..this is Kourtney Aldous & Jake Millard's cupcake wedding cake. It was a delightful display at their reception at the Villa Gardens. Their reception was beautiful and the cake/cupcakes certainly fit in. They had 3 cake flavors..ie French Vanilla, Chocolate Fudge and Purple Velvet..Mmmmm, it all was so yummy.

Jessica Myers Dream Cake

This gem was an amazing cake for me. I absolutely loved doing the painted on blossoms. I knew it would be a challenge for me because of the height of the cake tiers, and yes it is all cake but the little short tier was foam. Jessica wanted all real and she got it. Her reaction was just what I expected..over joyed..and she said it made all the stress go away, that she was having. What a wonderful thing to say.

This little jewel was a real challenge. The bride wanted a Damask look, but she wanted a unique look instead of the stencil look that everyone else is using. So I hand painted a stylized design on all 4 sides. The design matched her look that she used throughout her reception. Everyone including the bride was amazed by this beautiful cake. And I was very proud of my finished work. Definitely an art piece.

Here it is, the cake everyone has been asking me to see. Yes, this is the wedding cake I made for my son and his new bride Karen Jensen. I don't know what is prettier....and yes the cake was all real cake. The flavors were, Carrot cake, strawberry cream, Orangecicle, Chocolate Fudge, French Vanilla...Mmmmm, everyone loved it. I'll post more pics when we get them back from the photographer. Thanks everyone, for all your cards and gifts!

This perfect pink cake is the perfect confection for the Hardman wedding. This is number 3 I've done for the Hardman family. They are always pleased and I hope I will be called again for the next daughter to get married. Congratulations to the both of you.

Ivory creations at the Compton Estate

This lovely and unique creation is design by Jenny Compton, mother of the bride.
The cake is covered by ivory fondant and tiny white blossoms, accented by a loving phase written by the bride to the groom. The whole look is finished with a white sash on the bottom tier.

Congratulations to Jacob & Hilary Beecher
This cake was completely inspired by the bride and groom. They both wanted simple but elegant with rich colors and fabulous tasting cake. The cake was covered with sumptuous orange butter cream icing and the inside was my famous gourmet spice cake. They loved it, in fact every body did. The wedding was held at the Beecher estate in La Verkin.

Yes, I made the flowers out of fondant and yes its all real cake. Lexie & Jamie and the family all loved it. Wedding was held at the Belltower, in St. George.

By the way the Lacey cake below is from the Rodger Wedding and it was held at the Arts Building in St. George.

Here's a real beauty. Roselee Rodgers and her daughter picked this look our of a magazine. It turned out fantastic. Cake is made of white fondant with handed sculpted lace pieces and flowers. Orchids are made of gumpaste. Thanks so much guys and Congratulations to the happy couple!

This Lovely Cake was my own creation and was inspired by Kallie lovely personality and spirit.
Everyone oood and ahhh over this one. It certainly was impressive and made a beautiful statement. The orb of real flowers on the top of the cake is called a"Kermit Ball".

Here's sweet cake I did for the Ledges Bridal Show. What fun it was. Brides tried on Dresses, have their hair and make-up done. And then have professional pics taken by some of the best photographers in St. George. And then they got eat some of my cakes. The cake flavors were Strawberry cream with strawberry filling anf cream whip icining. And Chocolate Fudge Cake with chocolate fudge filling and chocolate butterecreamicing. And then I have Sour lemoncake with lemon pudding and citrus buttercream. Everyone said they were delicious. This little spring cake was made with multi-colored green fondant sticks surrounding a beautful 3-tier stacked creation and decorated with fresh yellow daisies. Simply Springy

This was an amazing and fun cake I did for a lovely couple who were both teachers who taught in China for 2 years. They had a Chinese theme wedding reception. I hand painted the Dragon and bird, which represent the bride and groom. I also did a Pagoda on the top with a "Double Happiness" symbol. The gate represented their starting a new life together.
All real Cake except Pagoda top.

So the world want to know more about me and how I became a talented cake decorators and baker.
Well, believe me, there is much more to Yvonne than first meets the eye, but first I will tell you how my cake creating skills came about me..................Long, long ago when I was a very young girl, I was surround by wonderful a extended family....ie aunt, uncle, cousins, grandparents and so on. Well it is during this when I discover I had artist talents. I drew pictures and sketches and eventually began oil painting. I soon found that I had knack for art. Also doing this my Aunt Lucy, Grandma Wyant and Cousin Carolyn were busily learning the art of cake decorating. My extended family were already great cooks and bakers which go back generations into the Pennsylviania Dutch territory.
My great Grandma Rerrick had a large boarding house and cooked everyday for sometimes 20 to 30 men. They loved her cooking. Many of those great recipes have been passed down to me and I still use them today. Anyway, much of my baking skills come from my Grandmother Wyant & Aunt Lucy who continued to make huge family dinners & picnics with lots and lots of delicious food. Grandma's cakes were what everyone looked forward to at the end of a big event. Always moist and scrumptous it was to die for. Anyway Grandma decorated her cake beautifully too. Her buttercream roses and lacey design always brought ooohs and aaaahs. Grandma and Aunt Lucy were always asked to do wedding cakes for friends and family. And so their fame grew. It was during my young teen years that I begged to learn all Grandma and Aunt Lucy knew, and so I started making, baking and decorating cakes when I just 13. This is where my cousin Carolyn came into the picture. She became my best friend and learned along side me. She also went on to start her own wedding cake business as well and lived in Santa Maria California. Over the years, I learned so much from her and I owe her my greatest gratitude. She is Awesome. I also owe my Grandma Wyant & Aunt Lucy much graditude, for their patience, love and experience. Not to leave anyone out, I owe so much to my mother. Although she's not the greatest cook (gotten much now) she is a terrific artist, and I grateful to her for her encouragement and sending me to art classes. So now you can see how and where I get my talent from. I made my first wedding cake more than 20 years ago. And much of what I've learned in the last 20 years has come from books and trial & error. It has been a fun and terrific journey.
